Good Nights Sleep

good nights sleepA good nights sleep is simply one of those things you can’t live without.  We all know what it feels like not to get sleep well at night.  Suffice it to say that when you suffer from sleep deprivation your not much fun to be around the next day.

Like quantum physics, we still don’t quite understand why we need sleep but we do know that the lack of it can wreak havoc on our health.

Getting six to eight hours of sleep each night is the cornerstone of your health.  When you get too much sleep or not enough your body will feel it.  Sleep deprivation is so widely experienced these days that it often goes unnoticed.  The long term effects of interrupted or impaired sleep may cause serious health issues.

For example, not getting a good nights sleep can weaken your immune system, impair your cognitive abilities, cause a pre-diabetic state, increase chances of heart disease, affect your weight, cause stomach ulcers and cause emotional disorders such as frequent mood swings and depression.

While you sleep your pituitary gland releases a growth hormone.  Lack of sleep interferes with the production of this hormone, which causes you to age a lot sooner than you normally would.  These growth hormones when released normally will help you feel and long much younger.  Chronic insomnia has been clinically shown a greater risk of dying from most any cause.

Lost sleep is just like lost time, once its gone its gone forever.  The cumulative effect of sleep deprivation is damaging to your overall health.  Lack of a good nights sleep can make your life a living hell as most of you have already probably experienced at some point in your life.

There is some good news.  There are many good techniques that you can implement that can help restore your sleep quality.  Whether you’re having trouble falling asleep or waking up frequently throughout the night you will definitely find some relief with the secret sleeping tips I give below.

Make sure your sleeping quarters are as dark as possible.  The best way to achieve this is to use blackout curtains.  Most people don’t know that even the smallest array of light can interrupt your sleep and prevent the production of the melatonin and serotonin hormones.  Getting rid of all light means removing those night lights and covering up your alarm clock if it emits any light.

One easy way to insure you get a good nights sleep is to maintain an optimal temperature between 60 and 68 degrees.  You may be in for a sleepless night if your bedroom is any hotter or colder.  A cooler bedroom coincides with your body’s temperature which tends to drop after you fall asleep.

Keep your bedroom for sleeping and making love only.  Avoid bringing TV’s and work related items into the boudoir.  These items make it much more difficult to fall asleep at night.

When you implement the above techniques you will find that you not only fall asleep faster but you enjoy a much deeper sleep.  Getting a good nights sleep doesn’t have to be hard and the above suggestions are 100% natural – no sleeping pills.
